# Joint All-Domain Command and Control
## BLUF
**Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2)** is the US Department of Defense's strategic concept for networking sensors, decision-makers, and effectors across all five operational domains — land, sea, air, space, cyberspace — into a single, machine-speed command-and-control enterprise. Sometimes rendered as Combined JADC2 (CJADC2) when extended to coalition partners. JADC2 is the architectural response to peer-competitor A2/AD ([[A2AD]]) systems and the operational enabler for algorithmic warfare doctrines that require sub-second sensor-to-shooter loops.
Operationally, JADC2 comprises (a) a data substrate: common ontology + distributed data fabric enabling cross-domain queries; (b) a decision substrate: AI-assisted course-of-action generation and [[Decision Superiority|decision-superiority]] workflows; (c) an effects substrate: composable fires across domains coordinated by a common mission-command layer. Service-level implementations include the US Air Force's Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS), the US Army's [[Project Convergence]] and Army Data Platform (ADP), and the US Navy's Project Overmatch.
