# Interactive Graph View
The Interactive Graph is a dynamic, force-directed visualization of the entire knowledge base. It renders all notes as nodes and all wikilinks as edges, providing a relational map of actors, concepts, tactics, crises, technologies, historical cases, and sources.
This view is generated automatically from the internal linking structure of the repository. As new notes are added and connections are established, the graph evolves in real time, reflecting the underlying network of intelligence relationships.
---
## Purpose
In intelligence analysis, understanding isolated facts is rarely sufficient. The value lies in mapping relationships, identifying clusters, detecting patterns, and revealing non-obvious connections across domains. The Interactive Graph serves as a visual analytical tool to support this process.
It enables the analyst to:
- Explore the relational architecture of the knowledge base
- Identify central nodes (highly connected actors, concepts, or events)
- Discover emergent clusters and thematic groupings
- Trace influence pathways and conceptual lineages
- Conduct exploratory analysis beyond linear reading
---
## Technical Characteristics
- **Layout**: Force-directed graph (repulsion + attraction forces)
- **Interactivity**: Full pan, zoom, node dragging, and hover information
- **Search**: Real-time node filtering by title or content
- **Dynamic**: Updates automatically with every new link or note published
- **Scope**: Includes all published notes and their bidirectional connections (wikilinks and backlinks)
---
## Operational Use
1. Access the graph directly from any page via the graph icon in the top-right corner of the site interface, or through the dedicated link on the homepage.
2. Use mouse drag to reposition individual nodes for better readability.
3. Scroll or use trackpad pinch to zoom in/out.
4. Click and hold a node to temporarily fix its position.
5. Use the search field (top of the graph panel) to highlight specific notes or themes.
6. Hover over nodes to preview note titles and connection count.
For complex analysis, it is recommended to focus on specific sub-networks (e.g., filtering mentally around a particular crisis or actor) rather than attempting to interpret the entire graph at once.
---
## Analytical Value
The graph is particularly useful for:
- Mapping hybrid warfare ecosystems (actor–tactic–technology triangles)
- Tracing doctrinal diffusion across state and non-state actors
- Identifying recurring patterns in historical cases
- Supporting hypothesis generation during current investigations
- Visualizing the current state of research threads
This tool complements traditional note-taking by making explicit the implicit relational structure that defines serious intelligence work.
---
**Note**: The graph reflects only the current published state of the knowledge base. Broken or unresolved links do not appear. Continued development of dense, precise internal linking will further increase its analytical utility.
