Forensic Architecture
Forensic Architecture (FA) is a multidisciplinary research agency based at Goldsmiths, University of London. Founded by architect Eyal Weizman, it uses architectural and investigative methodologies — 3D modelling, video analysis, satellite imagery, acoustic triangulation — to produce evidence-grade reconstructions of contested events, primarily for human-rights litigation and accountability investigations. Its outputs are admissible in international legal proceedings and have been submitted to the European Court of Human Rights, the ICC, and the UN.
Relevance to Gaza Investigations
Forensic Architecture has produced open-source forensic reconstructions of multiple journalist-targeting incidents in the Gaza War and the Lebanese front, including spatial and acoustic analysis of the Issam Abdallah killing (southern Lebanon). Its methodology is the gold standard for reconstructing strike geometry and identifying the weapon system and firing unit responsible.
